STEM Activities for Grades K-8

What do animals and engineering have in common?

They are both exciting topics that students in grades K-8 can explore through ScienceConnections, the Library’s series of STEAM programs taught by subject experts. Hands-on fun with science, technology, engineering, art, and math is a good way to keep kids pursuing these subjects through grade school. In fact, thanks to a grant from IEEE-Chicago Section, families can even check out Discovery Kits to bring the fun (and the learning) home, and Boeing supported Family Science Nights make engineering accessible to all!

In-branch programming at Chicago Public Library is currently suspended as a safety precaution during the COVID-19 pandemic. During this time, we encourage patrons to engage with our Library’s robust suite of free virtual and take-away resources for children and families.
