Meet Susan Orlean this November!

It’s not every day you get to be up close and personal with an acclaimed author; but on November 13, Chicago Public Library Foundation donors will have the chance to meet celebrity author, Susan Orlean!

You read that right! With her new title, The Library Book released, we look forward to hearing Susan Orlean speak about the book people are calling “a love letter to libraries” – and a novel that reopens the 1986 mystery of the Los Angeles Public Library fire. The author event is being held at the Harold Washington Library with an exclusive reception beforehand to give Library Foundation donors the chance to clink glasses, nibble appetizers and meet the powerhouse herself.
About the Event
The author event will take place on November 13th at the Harold Washington Library; with doors to the Cindy Pritzker Auditorium opening at 5:00 p.m. Seating for the discussion is open to the public with seating available on a first come, first served basis. Books will be available for purchase following the event.
A ‘Thank You’ to Our Donors
As a charitable foundation, we understand that our donors are instrumental to our mission  – which is why we are always on the look-out for unique ways to say ‘thank you’ and to bring you closer to unique library experiences, talented authors, and meaningful conversations. With this opportunity to meet THE Susan Orlean – it goes without saying – we hope to hit all three!
